Our printables can be tackled alone but working in small groups is usually the most fun.
All of our free printable puzzles and worksheets are in PDF format so they can easily be printed off as handouts and distributed to a classroom full of kids or teenagers eager to be challenged. Answers are provided on the second page. Except for one!
Brain Teaser Question Sheet (with Answers)
There are six questions on this free printable brain teaser for kids which will be suitable for children from about 9 or 10 years old through to teenagers. (Adults might enjoy them too).
The questions are a random selection of some of our favourite kids’ logical puzzles. The first question is actually a lot easier than it appears and much of the frustration around solving it tends to result from the natural assumption that there is quite a large collection of cats … (clue: there isn’t!)
Drawing Brain Teaser Puzzle (with Solution)
This brain teaser puzzle for kids and teens is plain ‘sneaky’! We’ve all had a go at those ‘try drawing this shape’ puzzles before but this one immediately appears to be impossible. There is a solution to this brain teaser of course but it involves some considerable ‘outside the box’ thinking …… and around the other side of the paper too!
Animal Connections Puzzle Sheet (with Answers)
This free printable worksheet looks like a simple word search but it is in fact something slightly more challenging. Kids need to find a continuous path from START to FINISH by discovering the names of animals hidden in the grid. The last letter of each animal is the first letter for the next animal.
The first three words are highlighted to show how the puzzle sheet works …. after that you’re on your own ! It comes with answers of course.
Ditloid Puzzle Sheet (with Answers)
52 C i a P = 52 Cards in a Pack
1000 M i a K = 1000 Metres in a Kilometre
You get the idea by now! These aren’t just great brain stretching puzzles to solve but also great fun to think up for other people to have a go at solving. Miles to the Moon would be a tricky one ….. Or how about a movie and TV themed quiz? …… S W a t 7 D …… Snow White and the 7 Dwarves ! It’s suitable for teenagers too. Answers are provided on the second sheet of the printable.
Extra Grid Square Appears from Nowhere
This brain teaser needs scissors! After cutting out the grid and then rearranging the pieces you find that you have one more square than you started with. How can this be?
All ages will be puzzled by this one but we suggest giving it to teenagers as a test of maths, logical reasoning and deduction. If there is sufficient thought and investigation applied to this printable brain teaser they’ll eventually work out how an extra square seems to magically appear from nowhere.
