Privacy Policy

The UK's Information Commissioner's Office describes cookies as " ...a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded on to your computer when you visit a website. Cookies are used by many websites and can do a number of things, eg remembering your preferences, recording what you have put in your shopping basket, and counting the number of people looking at a website."

You should consider the privacy implications of cookies before continuing to use this website. We don't use cookies but some Google services that we use on this website (including their partners, associated third-party vendors and associated ad networks) do place a cookie on your computer when you visit us.

IF YOU DON'T AGREE TO RECEIVING COOKIES FROM GOOGLE OR THEIR PARTNERS THEN PLEASE DISCONTINUE USE OF THIS WEBSITE AND USE YOUR BROWSER SETTINGS TO DELETE ANY COOKIES THAT WE MAY HAVE ALREADY PLACED. No hard feelings. You're welcome back any time.

(This guide to deleting and controlling cookies might help).

OTHERWISE by staying on this website we assume you're happy to accept cookies.

So what Google services do we use?

  • Google Analytics (which gathers anonymous data about our visitors)
  • Google Adsense (which provides us with a small income by displaying adverts)

Google Analytics helps us to understand which geographical locations our visitors live in, which web browser they use, the search query that brought them to our site, numbers of visitors, etc. If you prefer you can Opt Out of Google Analytics Tracking.

Google's AdSense advertising programme (including their partners, associated third-party vendors and associated ad networks) use cookies to capture data about your IP address, your browser, pages you've visited, etc. Google AdSense and their associated advertising company called 'DoubleClick' use that anonymous information to serve tailored-advertisements to you and to build up a profile of your tastes and preferences. They also make use of 'geotargeting' which means that adverts can be served to you which reflect your location. If you prefer you can Control Google's Advertising Cookies.

If you would like further details about how your privacy is affected by Google Analytics and Google Adsense we suggest you read Google's Privacy Policy.
