If you send us an email then we'll have that information of course but we don't keep e-mails a second longer than is necessary to reply to them. We would NEVER pass on your email address to anybody else unless required to do so by law.
The UK's Information Commissioner's Office describes cookies as " ...a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded on to your computer when you visit a website. Cookies are used by many websites and can do a number of things, e.g. remembering your preferences, recording what you have put in your shopping basket, and counting the number of people looking at a website."
However (and just to further confuse you) even non-personalised adverts require that a cookie be placed onto your computer for essential technical reasons. That cookie isn't interested in you ... it's just used by the advertiser for their own statistics and also to help them fight 'click fraud' and abuse of the advertising schemes. Nevertheless GDPR requires that you know about it and that you're happy about it. We use a 'cookie banner' on our website to inform you about this.
IF YOU DON'T AGREE TO RECEIVING NON-PERSONALISED COOKIES FROM GOOGLE AND THEIR PARTNERS THEN PLEASE DISCONTINUE USE OF THIS WEBSITE AND USE YOUR BROWSER SETTINGS TO DELETE ANY COOKIES THAT MAY HAVE ALREADY BEEN PLACED. No hard feelings. You're welcome back any time. This guide to deleting and controlling cookies will help; look for 'how to delete cookies' in the lefthand menu.
OTHERWISE by staying on this website we assume you're happy to accept cookies which do not
collect or process personal data.
GOOGLE! GOOGLE! GOOGLE!
We like to keep things simple so we only use Google Adsense to place adverts on our site. Those ads provide us with a small income to help us cover our costs and feed the cats. We're also big fans of Google Analytics but we're very confused as to how this conflicts with the GDPR so we've turned Google Analytics off for now; it's on our 'to-do list' to unravel this because we genuinely like to understand where our visitors come from and what they're interested in.
Homework Assignment: Make a cup of tea and have a relaxing read about How Google Manages Data in its Adverts because we have an obligation to advise you how Google uses personal data in accordance with their EU User Consent Policy.
TAKE CONTROL! You might not be aware that you can Control Google's Advertising Cookies. Have a look and a think about your privacy. It's good to get involved.
