This simple idea can be adapted to suit any age range from 5 and 6 year old primary school children right through to 11 and 12 year olds and teenagers. Teachers or parents simply adapt the subject and time limit accordingly.
Simple A-Z Quiz Sheet
Here's what to do. Firstly the Quiz Master should print off as many sheets as they need and hand one out to each child (or to each team if they're working in groups). Next, the Quiz Master declares what the subject and time limit will be and ensures that eveybody has written this down in the spaces provided. Finally the clock is started and the quiz begins as all the participants pick their brains to think of 26 different words connected with the chosen subject. (For tricky or complicated subjects they may need internet access).
The letters X and Z will always be particularly difficult so it might be necessary to declare that those letters are ignored ..... alternatively leave them in and give double points for any words beginning with X or Z.
When the time is up the Quiz Master collects in the sheets, adds up the scores, and declares a winner.
